A motorcyclist was killed in Patchogue Tuesday after he lost control and crashed into a minivan, Suffolk police said.

Police said Michael Frustaci of Holbrook was driving a 2014 Yamaha east on Sunrise Highway at the North Ocean Avenue exit when he lost control of the motorcycle and rear-ended a 2014 Toyota minivan at about 3:40 p.m.

Frustaci, 27, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital by a police helicopter, and later died of his injuries. The woman driving the Toyota was not injured, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
