A 45-year-old Central Islip man was killed when a vehicle struck him Saturday night on Church Street in Central Islip, police said.

Milton Maldonado was the victim of a hit-and-run driver, Suffolk police said Sunday evening.

Police said they received a 911 call at 11:24 p.m. reporting the body, which was identified as Maldonado.

Maldonado was pronounced dead at the scene and was taken to the Suffolk County medical examiner's office for an autopsy, which revealed he died after being struck by a vehicle.

Police ask anyone who might have seen something or knows anything about what might have happened leading up to Maldonado's death to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 800-220-TIPS.
