Motorcyclist dies in West Babylon collision

Suffolk County police are investigating a motorcycle crash in West Babylon on Friday that killed motorcyclist John Hart, 36, of Lindenhurst. Hart was traveling south on Great East Neck Road at about 4 p.m. when a car traveling north and trying to make a left turn collided with Hart's motorcycle. The driver, Doris Wagner, 68, of West Babylon was not injured. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the deadly crash to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152. Suffolk County police are investigating a crash Friday that killed a motorcyclist in West Babylon.

John Hart, 36, of Lindenhurst, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead.

Hart was riding a 2011 Suzuki motorcycle and traveling southbound on Great East Neck Road at about 4 p.m. Friday when the crash occurred. A 2002 Nissan Maxima traveling northbound, and trying to make a left turn, collided with Hart's motorcycle.

Doris Wagner, 68, of West Babylon was driving the Maxima. She was not injured.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
