A 27-year-old Commack man was seriously injured when his motorcycle was struck by a car on Route 110 in North Amityville Tuesday, police said.

Brandon Savoca suffered what Suffolk County police called "numerous fractures" of his right leg and pelvic area and was being treated at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip.

His condition was not immediately known Wednesday.

Police said Savoca was riding his 2002 Kawasaki motorcycle in the left lane of northbound Route 110 near Harrison Avenue at about 6 p.m. Tuesday when he was struck by a 2010 Hyundai driven by Madonna McDonnell, 69, of New Hyde Park. Police said Savoca was ejected from the bike and landed in the southbound lane of Route 110, where he was then struck by a 2001 Toyota pickup truck driven by Jose Corrugedo, 39, of Hicksville.

Police said both McDonnell and Corrugedo stopped. Neither were injured. The drivers were not charged, but police said all three vehicles were impounded for safety checks.

Police said McDonnell was attempting to merge into the left lane when she struck Savoca. The investigation is continuing Wednesday, police said.
