A motorcyclist was seriously injured Sunday after crashing into a car in Kings Park, Suffolk police said.

Fourth Squad detectives are investigating the crash, which occurred at about 2:55 p.m., police said.

Police said Christopher Foster, 30, of Thistle Lane, Kings Park, was traveling south on Indian Head Road on a 2003 Yamaha when he struck a 2011 Honda driven by Patricia Esculish, 82, of Garden City.

Esculish was traveling east on Hudson Road and attempting to make a left onto Indian Head Road when the collision occurred, police said.

She and her sister Joan Chicosky, 82, of Kings Park, were both taken by a Kings Park Fire Department ambulance to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown where they were treated for minor nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

Foster was transported by a Suffolk County police helicopter to Stony Brook Hospital with serious but nonlife-threatening injuries. He was cited for having an unregistered and uninspected motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle with no insurance, police said.
