Murder-for-hire guilty verdict
Ronald Thornton enticed James DiMartino into a real estate scheme, and then had DiMartino killed when Thornton's "house of cards" was about to crumble, prosecutors said.
The slaying took place on Oct. 20, 2008, in a Commack parking lot, where DiMartino, 44, expected Thornton to hand over a $16-million cash infusion for the mortgage business they ran, according to the DA. Instead, he was met by a 'death squad'.
