No state funds allocated for Saltaire revitalization
The Fire Island village of Saltaire learned this week that it did not get the $2.5 million in state funds it was counting on to buy and renovate the property where its single grocery store now resides.
Mayor Scott Rosenblum said the Saltaire Market is an integral part of the village, a place where residents gather to chat, trade news and socialize, and stock up on everyday items.
