No tax increase in Brookhaven budget proposal
Brookhaven Supervisor Mark Lesko unveiled a 2010 budget Tuesday that would hold the line on taxes by slashing overtime spending, reducing the number of seasonal employees and eliminating raises to managers and elected officials.
Lesko, a Democrat, said his budget also "radically reorganizes" several town departments to make them more nimble and efficient. The budget does not include any layoffs...
