All westbound lanes of the Northern State Parkway in Dix Hills were reopened Sunday about 3:45 p.m. after being shut for more than two hours because a tree fell on the roadway, New York State Police said.

Police said the tree fell at 1:12 p.m. on all westbound lanes of the roadway at Exit 42, in the area of Deer Park Road.

A car hit the fallen tree, but police said there were no injuries.

Two hours after the fall, crews were still working to remove the tree, police said.
