A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Sunday night as he crossed an East Patchogue street, Suffolk County police said.
Jose R. Fuentes, 39, of East Patchogue, was walking across East Main Street near Conklin Avenue around 8 p.m. when the eastbound car hit him, police said.
The driver, Jeremiah Day, 25, of Wyandanch, was not injured.
His car, a 2005 Nissan Maxima, was impounded for a safety check and Fifth Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances.
