Pedestrians struck by car in Brightwaters recovering
Twice a week, Cathy Benjamin and some of her friends power-walk through their South Shore neighborhood to stay fit.
On Monday evening, the group of four walked north on Concourse East alongside the moored boats in the Brightwaters canal, staying on the lit portion of the street, aware of the gathering dusk, Benjamin said.
Suddenly, they were struck down from behind by a car.
