Police: Drunken driver clocked at 110 mph

A Manhattan man was drunk when troopers stopped him for driving 110 mph on the Southern State Parkway in North Amityville early Thursday, State Police said.

Eric Miranda, 31, was driving a black Acura east on the parkway near Route 110 at 12:04 a.m. when troopers pulled him over, according to a news release.

Troopers said Miranda produces a breath-analyzer reading of .09 percent and was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and several other traffic violations, including going 110 mph in a 55 mph zone.

He is due to appear in First District Court in Hempstead on Aug. 16.
