Police ID Fourth Precinct escapee as Shirley man

Suffolk police Monday were searching for a Shirley man who escaped from the Fourth Precinct on Sunday as he was being processed on nonviolent drug charges and resisting arrest, authorities said.

Michael Greco, 25, of 9 Corbin Ave., broke free about 10:20 a.m. from the precinct on Veterans Memorial Highway in Smithtown, police said.

Greco is about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 110 pounds with a thin build, brown hair, brown eyes and dark facial hair, police said.

No other details were released, including the circumstances of his arrest and escape, and the exact charges.
