Police investigate drive-by shooting in Wyandanch

First Squad detectives are investigating a drive-by shooting that injured two people Monday night in Wyandanch, Suffolk County police said.

About five people were on Garden City Avenue at about 11:15 p.m., talking to a friend sitting in a 1999 Toyota Solara when several gunshots were fired from an unknown vehicle traveling west on the road, police said.

Marcquan Clark, 30, of Brentwood, and Shamikqua Jones, 36, of Bay Shore, each was hit by a bullet and "self-transported" to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip.

Police said the injuries were not life-threatening.

The investigation is continuing.
