A Medford man was killed early Saturday morning when he lost control of his vehicle along the service road of Sunrise Highway in Holbrook and went airborne, eventually landing on two unoccupied cars in the parking lot of the Sun Vet Mall, Suffolk County police said.

Brian Golden, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred at 12:20 a.m. when Golden's 2007 Nissan veered off the westbound service road near Route 27. He drove into the mall parking lot and landed on two other vehicles, causing extensive damage, police said. There were no other reported injuries.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident and ask anyone with information about the crash to call 631-854-8552.
