Police respond to Central Islip car crash

Police and firefighters responded to the scene of a two-car accident early Monday in Central Islip, but it was unclear if anyone was seriously hurt.

Suffolk County police said the crash occurred near the corner of Carleton Avenue and Brightside Avenue at 6:38 a.m.

Suffolk fire officials said volunteers from the Central Islip Fire Department responded to the scene and police said an ambulance also had been dispatched as a precautionary measure. It was not clear what type of cars were involved.

Police said the road remained open.
