Beachgoers in the Town of Babylon were pulled from the water after a possible shark sighting Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
Lifeguards closed the waters at Overlook Beach after spotting a fin in the water around 3 p.m., town spokesman Kevin Bonner said.
It was not immediately clear what kind of animal was reported or if it came into contact with any people, Bonner said.StoryGreat white shark lurks off LI coastVideoShark diving off the East End
