Route 110's lanes in Babylon will be closed at night for more than two weeks as work crews repair the roadway, state transportation officials said Friday.
Starting Sunday, two southbound lanes will be off limits from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. between Route 24, which is Conklin Street, and the Southern State Parkway, officials said in an advisory.
Those lane closures will last about a week, followed by the closures of two northbound lanes for about a week, transportation officials said.
One travel lane will be open in each direction, the advisory said.
The preventive maintenance will prolong the life of this stretch of Route 110, one used by about 51,000 motorists each day, the state said.
The road closures may be canceled, postponed or prolonged because of weather, the advisory said.
