Suffolk police Sunday night identified the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a car in Port Jefferson Station on Saturday as a 73-year-old woman.
Rosa Maria Sinchi of Sweet Wood Court in Port Jefferson Station was killed after she was hit by a 2002 Honda as she was crossing North Bicycle Path about 5:05 p.m. Saturday, police said.
The driver of the Honda, Thomas Sammartino, 17, of Port Jefferson Station, stayed at the scene, police said.StoryCops: Pedestrian struck and killed
Sinchi was taken to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson, where she was pronounced dead.
Sixth Squad detectives are investigating the accident.
