Southampton shark has no bite
Shark! Well, sort of.
Bathers on Southampton ocean beaches were surprised Sunday to see the fin of a shark swimming along the shore, town police said.
At about 4 p.m., a 15- to 20-foot basking shark cruised along the shoreline of Tiana Beach.
Lifeguards rowed out in a kayak to make sure the shark was harmless and swimmers were not in danger, witnesses said.
