Stony Brook doctor questions herbal remedy

Dr. David A. Baker, an obstetrician-gynecologist at Stony Brook University School of Medicine, says his research shows that 30 percent of black cohosh products don't actually contain black cohosh, an herbal remedy said to ease symptoms of menopause. Baker says that his research, which includes DNA testing of various over-the-counter supplements, raises questions about previous studies on the effectiveness of black cohosh. Feb. 28, 2014.
