Claire Becker 11, of Stony Brook, is cheered on by volunteers as he father Chuck Becker helps her to home plate, during the Miracle League Baseball Game held at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY. Stony Brook Athletics and The Miracle League of Long Island will team up to hit another homer at Joe Nathan Field - this time by giving people with disabilities the chance to grab a bat, put on a glove and play some ball. There will be a doubleheader at the field, beginning at 9 AM, and over 150 Stony Brook students and student-athletes have volunteered to be buddies to the members of the Miracle League. The buddies assist players in batting and running the bases and to be a friend on and off the field. (Sept. 14, 2013)
