Suffolk: 3 Islip Town beaches closed to swimming

Three Islip Town beaches are closed to swimming because of excessive bacteria levels, Suffolk County health officials said.

The beaches, closed Saturday, are Benjamin Beach in Bay Shore, Sayville Marine Park Beach and Bayport Beach, Suffolk County Health Services said.

Information on Suffolk County beach closings is available by calling the health department's Bathing Beach hotline, 631-852-5822, or by calling the department's Office of Ecology, 631-852-5760.
