Suffolk cops investigate Centereach man charged in Massachusetts child sex crimes
Detectives are investigating whether a Centereach man arrested Friday in connection with child sex crimes more than three decades ago in Massachusetts has committed similar acts in Suffolk County, police said Monday.
Paul Collins, 62, who has lived in Suffolk County for nearly 10 years, was arrested on a warrant Friday at his Pleasant Avenue home by Suffolk police, along with Arlington, Mass., police and the U.S. Marshal's New York/New Jersey Regional Task Force, authorities said.
He is charged with indecent assault, battery of a child under 14, rape of a child by force, and open and gross lewdness, Suffolk County police said.

He met his victims, four males, through his involvement as swim coach and aquatics director with the Arlington Boys & Girls Club between 1978 and 1980, Suffolk police said.
