Suffolk lawmakers vote to hike hotel, motel tax
In a move to prop up Suffolk's struggling museums, the county legislature voted Thursday to quadruple the county's hotel/motel tax to 3 percent, a move backers say effectively recoups money from visitors from New York City for the new MTA payroll tax the county must now pay.
