Suffolk County police are asking the public's help identifying a suspect in a grand larceny investigation after a Centereach man's wallet was stolen from his unlocked vehicle and his credit card was used to make unauthorized purchases.

The wallet was stolen from the center console of the victim's vehicle sometime between 5 p.m. Sept. 2, a Sunday, and 7:30 a.m. the next day, police said in a Wednesday news release. The vehicle was parked outside his home.

"Later, the victim was notified by his credit card company that someone had used his credit card to make unauthorized purchases at 7-Eleven, Speedy Mart, CVS, and at a Sunoco gas station in Port Jefferson Station," the police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
