Third Squad detectives are looking for a man who broke into an occupied home in Bay Shore, confronted the homeowner and then fled by stealing the homeowner's vehicle, Suffolk County police said Tuesday.

Police released photographs of the stolen vehicle, which was recovered after the April 12 break-in on Wenman Avenue.

The suspect took the 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser after he had an altercation with the homeowner, according to police. The suspect then left the vehicle at Oakwood Cemetery in Bay Shore after breaking out its rear window.

Police said the suspect took a pocketbook with an unspecified amount of cash, credit cards and a U.S. passport.
