A Long Island man facing previous charges is being sought in a recent break-in at a Mastic home, Suffolk County police said.

Louis Evangelista, 39, "entered a residence on Burney Boulevard on Feb. 22 and stole a laptop and jewelry," a Friday police report said.

Evangelista "confronted a resident of the home" before fleeing north on Burney Boulevard in a gray sedan, the report said. He is known to spend time in Shirley, police said.

Evangelista is already facing 12 charges, court records show. Evangelista was arrested in May 2012 on a charge of criminal possession of stolen property; in June 2012 he was arrested on charges of drug possession and driving while under the influence of drugs; in November 2012 he was arrested twice, on Nov. 2 and Nov. 11, on traffic and motor vehicle offenses; in January 2013 he was arrested on charges of aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and other charges. Evangelista is out on $1,000 cash bail with a court appearance scheduled for April 17 on the 12 current charges, court records show.
