A man with a gray goatee ran without any money from a Huntington bank Tuesday after trying to rob it but was successful on his second attempt at another bank, Suffolk police said.
A teller at People's United Bank on Main Street refused to give the robber money despite his repeated demands, police said.
Then 25 minutes later at 12:15 p.m., he succeeded at TD Bank's Deer Park branch on Deer Park Avenue, police said. He ran south on Deer Park Avenue with the cash, police said.
The suspect appeared to be about 40 to 45 years old and 5 feet, 7 inches tall. He wore a red hat, white T-shirt and shorts, police said.
Detectives ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
