Timeline on night of Marcelo Lucero's fatal stabbing

Marcelo Lucero was stabbed shortly before midnight on Nov. 8, 2008, prosecutors and police say.

In Suffolk County Court Thursday, Chris Schiera of the Patchogue Ambulance Co. testified to this timeline about the company's response to a report of an "adult male bleeding."


Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008

12:01 a.m. Patchogue Ambulance Co. receives call about stabbing.

12:05 a.m. Assistant Chief Chris Schiera arrives at the ambulance company.

12:12 a.m. Schiera and another EMT arrive in downtown Patchogue and see flashing police lights at Main Street and Ocean Avenue.

12:14 a.m. Schiera arrives at Fanero Court, where he finds Lucero bleeding in a driveway.

12:25 a.m. Ambulance carrying Lucero leaves Fanero Court for Briarcliffe College several blocks away, where the victim is to be airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center.

12:26 a.m. Lucero goes into cardiac arrest. He is not airlifted to Stony Brook. The helicopter will not transport patients whose hearts have stopped beating, Schiera testifies.

Between 12:25 and 12:30 a.m. Ambulance leaves Briarcliffe College for Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue.

12:30 a.m. Ambulance picks up Holbrook paramedic in south service lane of Sunrise Highway at Waverly Avenue.

12:34 a.m. Ambulance arrives at the hospital.
