Three people sustained minor injuries when two vehicles collided and overturned Sunday on the Sunrise Highway service road, Suffolk County police said.

The driver of a 2004 Ford truck, a man, 40, and two men in a street sweeper — a driver, 39, and a passenger, 31 — were taken to hospitals after the crash near Route 109, on the boundaries of West Babylon and North Lindenhurst, police said.

The pickup driver was traveling west on Sunrise Highway at about 6:24 p.m. when he swerved to avoid another vehicle, police said.

He lost control, possibly because of wet roads, and hit a Department of Transportation safety fence and then the road sweeper, which also was traveling west on the service road, police said.

Police said no charges are pending.
