Two people who police said had been driving while intoxicated were left with serious injuries after a three-car crash in Amagansett early Sunday morning, East Hampton Town police said.

Nicole Zizelis, 51, of Amagansett, was driving a 2010 Honda Accord west on Route 27 just after 3 a.m. when police said her vehicle collided with an eastbound 2008 Jeep Wrangler driven by Hari Kalyan, 33, of Brooklyn.

A taxi cab traveling east on Route 27 then came upon the scene. The taxi driver, Muhammad Fahim, 27, of Islandia, swerved in an attempt to avoid the wreckage, but crashed into the Jeep, police said.
