Thousands left in the dark following nor'easter
WOODBURY - Thousands of Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) customers woke up in the dark again today after a nor'easter that walloped the area with high winds and rain.
Power was knocked out to more than 7,000 LIPA customers early this morning.
The Town of Oyster Bay was hit the hardest. Bayville alone had more than 1,800 outages.
Power has since been restored to nearly all customers, according to LIPA's website.
To report an outage, call the LIPA hotline at 1-800-490-0075.
