Town adds fence at Baldwin park where man drowned
Two weeks after a 41-year-old Hempstead man drowned in the bay next to town-run Baldwin Park -- where swimming is banned -- Town of Hempstead officials posted a more visible "no swimming” sign and installed some snow fencing along the shoreline, a town spokesman said Thursday.
But, he added, there's little else the town can do to prevent such tragedies.
