Need a morning pick-me-up? Each day, Barbara Borsack delivers.

Borsack writes a blog called "Life Out Here," in which she shares uplifting nuggets about life in East Hampton Village.

In just about every post, she notes that she "loves" something about life out there. In fact, the blog used to be called "I Love East Hampton," and the blog's address is still www.Iloveeasthampton.blogspot.com.

In recent posts, she's talked about fond childhood memories of Easter, her grandchildren and the weather in April. "I love April."

Borsack, whose family has lived in East Hampton since the 1800s, owns the Strong Insurance Agency, located across the street from her home. The agency carries her maiden name.

Both the home and the company's building have been in the Strong family for several generations. Her family used to have a blacksmith operation.

Before the blog, Borsack wrote a column for her church newsletter, but nothing else independently. She started the blog at the suggestion of fellow churchgoers.

A casual reader wouldn't know it, "I don't bring it up in the blog," she says, but Borsack is deputy mayor of the village, giving her a deeper insight into town life than most, especially newcomers (think anyone living there less than 20 years, and maybe that's not enough). Definitely not summer invaders (not her words).

Today, she went to the beach to see the beached whale that's been stuck there since Tuesday. It's clinging onto life, but won't survive.

She'll probably write about that, she says.
