Co-owners Chris and Holly Browder pasture-raise 1,000 chickens. Originally farming on land leased from the Peconic Land Trust, the Browders bought 16 acres of land in Mattituck in 2012, which will allow them to increase their flock. "Our chickens are raised outdoors on certified organic land and fed certified organic feed," says Holly Browder. "They also eat bugs and grass. You can look at the richer color of the yolk and tell the difference between a chicken that is raised indoors and eats only chicken feed and ours."
