Allen Sedaka, 56, of Great Neck, created this statue of the Twin Towers out of terrazzo and donated it to the Great Neck Alert Fire Co. 1 after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The memorial honors Jonathan Ielpi, who joined the firehouse in 1989 at age 17. He was a member of FDNYs Squad 288 in Maspeth, Queens, when he was killed at the WTC at age 29.
