Holbrook is landlocked community located in central Long Island, parts of which are in both the towns of Brookhaven and Islip. The community has about 27,000 residents and is part of the Sachem School District, one of the largest in New York State. Four of the district’s 12 elementary schools are located in Holbrook, as is the Sachem Public Library. Holbrook is serviced by the Holbrook Volunteer Fire Department, which was established in 1927 and has three stations within the community.
