Long Islanders who travel on the Long Island Rail Road woke up this morning able to go through their normal routines for the first time in almost a week.

The LIRR was back on its normal schedule after a fire at a switching station forced the cancellation of dozens of trains for days.

LIRR president Helena Williams was in Mineola this morning talking to riders and thanking them for their patience.
