Long Island before and after historic rain storm

A historic rain storm pummeled parts of Long Island Wednesday with as much as 13 inches of rain, causing major flooding that stranded drivers on roadways, carved out sinkholes and damaged homes and businesses. One man was killed in a storm-related crash on the Long Island Expressway, and a dog died after it was swept away by the surging Carlls River in Babylon. These before-and-after photos show how some areas were affected and are recovering.
