Officials from the Town of Babylon and its three villages — Amityville, Babylon and Lindenhurst — are taking part in a panel discussion Wednesday on raising homes in flood-prone areas.

The event, organized by the grassroots organization Adopt A House, will feature discussions of the increased cost of compliance coverage, hazard mitigation grants, how lifting houses is done and how to choose a contractor for the work.

There will be two sessions, one from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and the other from 8 to 9:30 p.m. The event is open to all but will focus on the requirements within the town and villages.
