A local band, called Rendition, will play renditions of songs by Blink-182 and other contemporary rock groups in the final “Safe Summer Night” program for teenagers Tuesday at Hoyt Farm in Commack.

In addition to the concert, there will be activities such as basketball, volleyball, board games, arts and crafts, and boccie. The program is run by the Town of Smithtown Youth Bureau, and the town’s parks, public safety and recreation departments.

Rendition defeated three other groups in a Battle of the Bands contest during a previous "Safe Summer Night" program on June 26. The band won prizes such as music lessons and seven free hours in a Bohemia recording studio.

The Youth Bureau invited Rendition to perform a free show Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve, 200 New Hwy., Commack. It is open to middle and high school students in the Smithtown, Kings Park, Hauppauge and Commack school districts.

For information, call the Youth Bureau at 631-360-7595 or email phirschhorn@tosgov.com.
