Contamination found at former National Grid gas plant site in West Babylon

The state Department of Environmental Conservation has completed an investigation of a former gas plant site in West Babylon.

The investigation was performed at the site of the former National Grid West Babylon Manufactured Gas Plant located at 55 Evergreen St. An analysis was done from samples taken from the soil, groundwater and soil vapor, DEC officials stated.
