Nassau County officials announced earlier this month that they intend privatize Long Island Bus. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority, which operates the system, plans to eliminate 25 Long Island Bus lines, blaming inadequate funding from Nassau County, which owns the system but contributes $9.1 million to its $140 million annual budget....
