Farmingdale adjusts language of decision on $30M development
Farmingdale officials on Monday amended the language of last month’s decision to approve the mixed-use Bartone Plaza development to reflect what village attorney Kevin Walsh called “technical and minor changes.”
The decision now states that Bartone Properties’ annual “incentive” payouts to Farmingdale will begin January 2014, rather than January 2013.
The new date better aligns with the project’s expected completion date of late 2013, village officials said. Construction on the $30 million, 162,000-square-foot development in Farmingdale’s downtown district is slated to begin in August, with building taking about one year.
The developer’s payouts — about $236,000 in capital costs for the first year, $50,000 annually for years two through 10, and $11,000 each year after that — are in exchange for exceeding Farmingdale’s new density cap.
Officials on Monday also amended the language to clarify that they had considered every part of the village code that pertains to parking in making their decision.
The board of trustees voted 5-0 for the language changes.
