Freeport Village Mayor Andrew Hardwick will host a Sandy recovery update town-hall meeting tonight for residents who were severely affected by the storm.

The meeting will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Freeport High School Auditorium (50 S. Brookside Ave.).

Residents will receive information about the village’s restoration progress, preliminary planning for proposed federally funded infrastructure upgrades to flood-prone areas throughout Freeport and property elevation petitions, officials said.

Residents also will have the opportunity to voice their concerns about the ongoing recovery and their expectations of support from the village government.

Insurance litigation specialists will be available to discuss the steps necessary to successfully obtain funds from insurance providers for storm-related losses.

For more information, contact Hardwick’s office at 516-377-2252.
