'Glow of Hope' breast cancer awareness event to be held in Mineola

The “Glow of Hope” program will be held at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building on Sept. 30 for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano announced this week.

“This event serves not only as a tribute to those who have been affected by breast cancer, but also as a reminder for each and every one of us to carry the message of the importance of early detection,” Mangano said. “Early detection is the key in fighting this disease — not only in October but throughout the entire year.”

Guests are invited to arrive at 6 p.m. for light refreshments, followed by a brief program in the ceremonial chambers. The illumination will be at 7 p.m. All are invited.
