Health fair coming to Uniondale

The Garden City job fair will be held

The Garden City job fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the College Center Building, near Davis Avenue and East Road in Garden City. The event is hosted by Nassau County Legis. Nassau County Legis. Kevan Abrahams (D-Freeport) will host the "Let's Move! Back to School Health Fair," Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The family-oriented event will be held at ShopRite in Uniondale, 1121 Jerusalem Ave., in conjunction with the supermarket, Glory House Recovery, Inc., Thompson Family Markets and the Long Island Dietetic Association.

The event will feature free health screenings, and affordable health care information will also be provided, including dental (children), diabetes, cholesterol, blood pressure and other services for children and adults.

Children will also be able to enjoy games and receive a free drawstring bag with school supplies to help kick-start the new school year.
