Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray, Senior Councilman Anthony Santino, and state Assemb. Brian Curran (R-Lynbrook) plan to host a free Internet Safety & Cyberbullying Seminar to help residents navigate the web.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Baldwin High School, 841 Ethel T. Kloberg Dr.

Internet safety expert Ron Gerber is expected to make a presentation on the growing threat of cyberbullying — bullying someone through the phone, Internet or other electronic devices. Gerber is also expected to offer Internet safety tips and talk about the importance of reporting bullying and/or stalking, officials said.

“While the Internet can be a useful and educational resource, it is imperative that we educate our children on the potentially hazardous situations they may encounter while online,” Murray said in a statement.
