Lawmaker to give hurricane prep talks

Nassau County Legis. Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick) will present hurricane and emergency preparedness seminars in Merrick and Wantagh.

The first will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday  in the Merrick Fire Department Empire Hose Company No. 3, at 2300 Merrick Ave. Another seminar will be at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 15  in the Wantagh Public Library, 3285 Park Ave.

Representatives from the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management will give a presentation addressing what Long Island residents should do to prepare for hurricane season. Residents will be given information on how best to protect their homes and prepare for a potential power outage caused by a storm.
